Carnelian is an orange coloured variety of Chalcedony which is a mineral of the Quartz family. Its colour can vary from pale pinkish-orange to a deep rusty brown, although it is most known for its brilliant orange and red-orange crystals. The name of this gemstone comes from a Latin word meaning “flesh.” Carnelian works well with the Sacralchakra-Svadhisthana.
