The name Rhodonite comes from the Greek word meaning ‘a rose’, which relates to its rose pink colour. Rhodonite is also a stone of contrasts. The black veins running through it are caused by manganese oxide providing a contrast.The pinks indicate energy that enhances love, and is used in metaphysics to attract a good mate. These stones come in a range of colours from pale pink though to a deep rose pink almost red. Rhodonite is an inexpensive pink gemstone.Although the lighter pink stones are becoming more popular you will see many stones that are a deeper pink or magenta stones.
