Sapphire is a variety of Corundum, an aluminium oxide mineral. Blue is considered Sapphire’s “true” colour and is the most recognised, though Sapphire does come in a range of colours. Sapphire is the stone of wisdom. Blue Sapphire ranges from pale to deep azure or royal blue, to indigo, with the most highly desired colour being the velvety cornflower blue, known as Kashmir or bleu de roi.
